Up. What about adding categorySelector on Piwigo 2.4? I'm working on new designs for administration screens and categorySelector could be very useful.

The demo link does not work any longer :-/

This is really much better than current listbox. Congratulations grum for this widget!

The 4/ multiple select, display the selected categories trees is really good.

I think there is a bug on your 2/ simple select, display the selected category tree  because it behaves the same as 1/.

I think colors and icons are not enough readable, but that's a matter of CSS. The javascript part is really nice.

Recently, I have coded an object allowing to easily select one category in the category tree ; the object is currently used by GMaps extension:454 and Advanced Search Engine extension:455.

Current object is a solution better than actual solution provided by piwigo (listbox), but some things were not really perfect in usage.
So, plg ask me to enhance the object on few points.

You can find a demo version of the enhanced object here : http://grum.dnsalias.com/demo/categorySelector.html
There is 4 mode in example :
1/ simple select, display the selected category only
2/ simple select, display the selected category tree
3/ multiple select, display the selected categories only
4/ multiple select, display the selected categories trees

Now, the question is : do you think the interface can be enhanced ?
If you have any idea, don't hesitate to told me what can be enhanced.

The idea is to implement this object in Piwigo 2.2 ; for example, to replace the parent category listbox on the admin Photo / Add page.

Here a screenshot of the object (sorry, categories are named in french..)
