Synchronize pictures is not difficult, the problem is metadata, I use customer field in CPG to store extra information, such as name, extension, title, how to transfer such info to piwigo?

In piwigo, the category is album which the pictures belong to, in CPG, picture belong to album and album belong to category, only category can contain sub-category and album, only album contain pictures.

Hello
you can transfer the files in the galleries folder, or let it here and use the Site Manager under Tools
Then you synchronize
Then you can mange rights in piwigo with two systems according to your needs : on Album http://piwigo.org/doc/doku.php?id=user_ … management or on pictures with the Level of privacy (I think it's called that way)
You might be able to transfer your user also : what's the encoding of the passwords ?

But what's the difference between categories and album ?

I had coppermine and piwigo both.

My cpg is v1.5.16.

coppermine store the images under user folder, that's not good, if admin upload thousand of images, then there will be thousand file in one folder.

there are 4 user then one folder for each.

in mysql database, the table is like this

The problem of CPG is the access control, it can assign access right of album based on group. so, if you have a group of photo but people come from different deptment/group, want to do access control, you need create a new group first to add all those users in it.

This is not very precise :-/ A small sample of your directory tree would be useful.

I advise you to copy a part of your directory tree under the directory "galleries" in your Piwigo installation. Then perform a synchronization. The thumbnails will certainly be missing, so you will have to generate them. You can use screen [Administration > Tools > Thumbnails] for this and even better extension:327

Lots and lots of subfolders.

Hi GLY,

It all depends on the way Coppermine stores the photos. Are they in a specific folder? with sub-folders and so on? Please give some details :-)

Hello!

I want to transfer all the photos (thousands) I have in a Coppermine gallery to a Piwigo gallery that I just installed. Is there an easy way of doing this? Thank you.
