I appreciate your continued interest.

Yes, OK.  I have reopened the topic.

I have set up a new installation and set it up the same as my original one, this is what I get under 'Administration Home':-

        Operating system: Linux
        PHP: 5.3.8 (Show info) [2012-07-13 15:42:20]
        mysql: 5.1.63-cll [2012-07-13 15:42:20]
        Graphics Library: External ImageMagick 6.7.4-7

So far I have uploaded a single image 3648×2736 pixels, 5.96MB) to a single (private) album.
The photo is not visible - just a box with the file name.
When I try to 'Generate multiple size images' and select 'All', I get '9 photos were not generated'.
safe_mode is off
In the FAQ on my host's website, it appears they run phpSuExec.

Regards

John.

In fact using a lower graphic library is not very good : could you set up a new test gallery ? To see what's really wrong with Piwigo and your environment
thx

Hi again

your suggestion of '$conf['graphics_library'] = 'gd';' appears to have done the trick.

Very many thanks for your help.

I will mark the topic as 'resolved'.

Thanks again.

Hi flop25

Thanks for your reply.

My graphics library is 'External ImageMagick 6.7.4-7'

Where should I put your suggestion of $conf['graphics_library'] = 'gd';  please?

According to phinfo, PHP is NOT in safe_mode.

The environment given in 'Admin is:-

        Operating system: Linux
        PHP: 5.3.8 (Show info) [2012-07-12 19:04:45]
        mysql: 5.1.63-cll [2012-07-12 19:04:45]
        Graphics Library: External ImageMagick 6.7.4-7

I can give you a link but as the only album is a private one, there is nothing visible on the 'public' screen.  Shall I email it to you?

I do not know where to find if the PHP is running via suExec or suPHP. If you can let me know, I will gladly provide the info.

Many thanks.

John.

Hello
could we have a link please?
whats your graphic library and have you tried : $conf['graphics_library'] = 'gd'; ?

Do you know if PHP is in safe_mode?

Do you know if PHP is runned through suExec or suPHP?

I have installed Piwigo (2.4.1) and the installation went OK.

I have created an album (private) and uploaded several photos (using both Browser and Flash methods) and the files are in /piwigo/upload/2012/07/xx but do not appear in /piwigo/_data/i/upload/2012/07/xx

I cannot see the actual photos from anywhere within Piwigo – they appear as a coloured box with a filename but no actual picture.

I tried generating multiple size images in Batch Manager and it appears to go through the motions but finishes with ‘xx photos were not generated’.

I have searched the forum and have tried all (I think – well those which I have been able to understand!) possible solutions suggested when other users have had similar problems but to no avail.

Can anyone out there please help a thick old fella!

Many thanks in anticipation.

John.
