Sounds like an issue with your server or configuration.  100 pics uploaded through all of my Piwigo systems (10 different servers) takes a few minutes. (and some are in-house reused old desktop PC's)

Isn't related to piwigo but to server characteristics.

rec'd the email and attempted update but failed completely with write-protected problems everywhere.  attempted same with upgrade option within web site with same results.

log of errors here:  http://wahoo.no-ip.org/~paka/piwigo.2.9.1.errs.txt

and server is on headless box with no vnc, only ssh remote.  I cannot run a browser from that box with elevated permissions.

how do I update?

By the way, 2.9.1 is the first version for which Piwigo 2.9 users will (or already have) received the update notification email directly from their Piwigo. And that's great!
