still no fix??

not yet. It's pretty easy to change parameters in the source (after all it's text and php is readable).

I plan to sovle this before end of summer, but who knows?

anyway, I wont keep the graphical interface (too hard coding for me) and plan to use instead a config file.

Re: [Plugin] Charlies content

I've seen you updated the plugin, but there are some bugs in it. Piwigo keeps telling me there is an update of Your Plugin, no matter how often i re-install it.

And can you please tell me how to upload the files, because Piwigo keeps telling me the file format is not accepted :( Is it not possible to upload them with the webinterface? Do i have to use FTP?

I don't know how piwigo manage the plugins. Do you speak of the stable one or the beta one?

I do not have ATM access to the SVN repository and the piwigo admins seems to be in vacations :-), so I uploaded the beta plugin as zip file, you may have to install manually.

Simply upload the pluging content to the plugin/charlies_content_whtaever folder (you have to create) and you should find it in the plugin management of piwigo, activate it.

it mostly works (I'm interested by reports)

Re: [Plugin] Charlies content

Thx for the fast reply :)

Well, i hav now uninstalled it, and donloaded the "charlies_content_beta-3-2150822.zip"
then i installed it in my Piwigo 2.7.4 (it has a sign telling me it is incompatible)
Then it is activated, shows no errors or whatever. But if i try to upload i.e. a video file,
it tells me the file format is not supported.

So how do i upload movies, flash etc. now?

Re: [Plugin] Charlies content

my test folder is here:

http://dodin.org/owncloud/index.php/s/ZAycJHYqd41Ns6N

for file format test (not piwigo)

my main test gallery is here:

http://dodin.info/~piwigo/piwigo/

I have almost no problem for flv files (except a blank background, only for some sizes and Firefox).

mp4 files have to be of a particular format to play as html5 (nothing to do with piwigo nor the plugin), the plugin just build an html5 page and is very simple as you can see in charlies_html5.tpl.

you will find the script to build flv files here:

http://dodin.info/wiki/pmwiki.php?n=Pho … DeCharlies

for mp4, use handbrake, iphone & ipad touch preset, tick "web optimized" and voilà

Re: [Plugin] Charlies content

YAY it is working!

All i had to do was placing the files in the /gallery/galleries folder, then sync it.
The webinterface just did not want to let me add them there, even when adding the file extensions to the list in "/include/config_default.inc.php".

Now i don't mind placing them in the galleries folder and then sync it.
The Album it creates is set now to hidden, and it works like a charm. thx! :D

Re: [Plugin] Charlies content

Hello :-)

I now published (still as zip file) a new beta version that works pretty well for flv, mp4, mp3 and some other formats.

I have problems with quicktime as there are no Linux version and I can't have the mplayer plugin for my openSUSE 13.2 version :-(. I do not either find a quicktime version for windows 10.

It's pretty unpractical to try to upload any format video and expect everybody will be able to read it :-(.

I filled also a README-FIRST file with scripts models for converting to usable file formats for video.

writing php code to transcode video files is possible (not even difficult), but probably not our business.

An odd solution is uploading ti youtube an downloading the result as mp4 (not tested).

Re: [Plugin] Charlies content

Hi,

This sounds like exactly what I want to include PDF files in my albums, but I can't get it to work on Piwigo 2.9.3.

I've installed the current version (which according to http://piwigo.org/ext/extension_view.php?eid=119 is 3.1.1) but my Piwigo installation says that Charlie's Content is at version 3.0.1 and not compatible.  It gives me the option to upgrade, but that doesn't fix anything because I really do have 3.1.1 installed.

I downloaded the ZIP file from http://piwigo.org/ext/extension_view.php?eid=119 and although Changelog.txt.php says "20170425 Version 3.1.1" near the top, the comments in main.inc.php file say version 3.0.1.

Also... the github link on http://piwigo.org/ext/extension_view.php?eid=119 is to the ContactForm extension.

Thanks,

Randy

Re: [Plugin] Charlies content

I never could get with github :-(.
I simply copy the charlies folder in the plugin piwigo subfolder and don't use the update system, it works for me

Re: [Plugin] Charlies content

Thanks - I've got it working.  I tried copying the folder manually, but got the same problem with it complaining about not being compatible with my version of Piwigo. I had to delete the plugin, then edit the version number in main.inc.php before copying it into my Piwigo installation.  Having done that it installed and isn't complaining about the Piwigo version any more.

One more question - how do I set a thumbnail image for the PDF?  It's just appearing in the gallery with a generic "document with question mark" icon - which is too small to actually click on when the title pops up over it.  (You can see what I mean at https://orrison.com/gallery/index/category/293 - the PDF itself is at https://orrison.com/gallery/picture/20720/category/293)

Thanks again!

Re: [Plugin] Charlies content

set a thumnail as with any other image: any image in pwg_representative, with same name as the original file and jpg extension, compatible with 128x128 saize

you can simply ignore version warning

Re: [Plugin] Charlies content

Thanks for your help - and patience!  I've never manually set a thumbnail for any image, it's always generated them automatically.  So... I don't know how to "set a thumbnail as with any other image".  I tried  uploading a .jpg with the same name as the PDF, but it just added it as a second image in the album: https://orrison.com/gallery/index/category/293 .  I can't find any option for setting the thumbnail when editing the properties of the PDF.

Re: [Plugin] Charlies content

the thumbnail have to be in a subfolder of the folder where the pdf is and have a mx dimension of 128 pixels

example here

http://dodin.org/wiki/pmwiki.php?n=Phot … Devs#toc10

if you have many of them you can simply edit any already used thumbnail (like the one before your pdf example) and add the word "PDF" on it with any photo editor, like I did it for you :-)

Re: [Plugin] Charlies content

Thanks - I'd just sort-of figured that out.  I uploaded my PDF using the web form, so it's in upload/2018/03/24. I tried creating a folder upload/2018/03/24/pwg_representative and putting a JPG in there, but it hasn't used it. Is there a way to tell it to update the thumbnail after I've uploaded it?

Re: [Plugin] Charlies content

you have to sync the folder, go to admin, album, sync. It's better to untick the "sync metadata" (there are no usable metadata in pdf), and untick "simulate" (else nothing is done.
