After i uploaded all files to my Web Host and i type in the adress this problem occurs when i try to install
" Piwigo encountered a non recoverable error
/hsphere/local/home/vallmo/iharmoni.com/ace/_data/templates_c no write access
#1 mkgetdir /hsphere/local/home/vallmo/iharmoni.com/ace/include/template.class.php(61)
#2 Template::Template /hsphere/local/home/vallmo/iharmoni.com/ace/install.php(219) "
I tried to give those 2 files 777 premission but it didnt change a thing, but the i realized it said its "a non recoverable error." So now i got no clue what to do.
The problem is not to give additional access rights to the 2 PHP scripts but to the directory : /hsphere/local/home/vallmo/iharmoni.com/ace/_data/templates_c
1. does "_data" directory exists?
2. does the "_data" has enough right access? (so that Piwigo can create the subdirectory "templates_c"

Hi,
I had the same error, added the rights and filled out the installation page. After hitting the "Start Installatie"-button (start installation in Dutch), I just got a HTTP 500 Internal Server Error. I'm running my own server (W2K3, IIS, MySQL), so I could add IUSR_ to the local administrators group to eliminate a rights problem. This didn't help, so I'm a bit lost now...
Any idea what might help?
Thnx!
Ronald.
I managed to get it to work. I just manually created the "_data" and "templates_c" folders and gave them the 777 permission and it worked out fine.

IIS ?
=> No chmod 777.
But yes, create _data and templates_c folders with full control.

If after changing the permission on both folders gives you a blank page, make sure PHP 'safe_mode' is turned off.
