Public view

Hi all what a great script, been playing around with it for 2 months now, just a couple of Q if a I may

Public view, Do you need to upload images to a category before that category is shown in the index page?

Re: Public view

You may.
You're right by pLoader but...
Upload by FTP means a directory (a category), so you can make it private first.

Note: pLoader will load in the private category as well, but any new run of pLoader won't see the new private category till you user will be explicitly authorized.

Switch to private by default!

$conf['newcat_default_status'] = 'private';

Re: Public view

Hi philip,

With Piwigo 2.0.4 (the behavior was slightly different with Piwigo 2.0.3), if a category is empty for a given user, she won't see it. It's a feature, not a bug :-) Depending on privacy level on each photo of a category, a category may be empty for John but not for Sarah. The only exception is for admin users : they will see all categories, empty or not.

With pLoader, the connected user is an admin users, so she will see even empty categories.

Note: privacy level is for photo while public/private is for categories. In my example, all the categories are public.

* [Bugtracker] ticket 1053
* [Forum, topic 15227] categories with no photo due to privacy levels

Is that clear so far? (the privacy system is not the simplest one, so don't hesitate to ask questions, if you have any)
