[Feature Request] Joomla! and Piwigo

To get more visibility (I say popularity) there should be component for integrating Piwigo 2.2 with Joomla! 1.5 & 1.6 with self-made component, modules and plugins or using the multi-bridge extension JFusion (www.jfusion.org). I can't done it myself bcz my experience ends with MySQL, MS SQL and Localization.

Hi.

What kind of integration are you referring to? (eg. image linking for J! articles, widgets, etc..)

Cheers,
João C.

Re: [Feature Request] Joomla! and Piwigo

Make Piwigo a JOOMLA extension then Themeing for Piwigo would be based upon JOOMLA themeing. With over 2.5% of all websites in the world based upon JOOMLA, the plaform would be a wonderful way for Pwigo to gain exposue and popularity. There might also be more and better plugin development for Piwigo.

Piwigo is probably if finest development I have had occasion to find and install. The install process is without fail, one of the best I have experienced. Updating is already included by Piwigo. Plugins development has been part of Piwigo's development process. I think Piwigo would benefit even more if it could become a JOOMLA Gallery. I would expect it would become the Gallery of choice for many JOOMLA users.

I also agree. I love piwigo, but one of my most important points at the moment (I relaunch my homepage with Joomla) is the seamless integration of my photo gallery in my Joomla website. For the moment it is not possible, but I hope it will be possible soon :-)

that's pretty easy actually, you have to add in your local configuration file

Code:

define('USERS_TABLE', 'db_name.user_table_name');

$conf['user_fields'] = array(
  'id' => 'id',
  'username' => 'username',
  'password' => 'password',
  'email' => 'mail_address'
  );

and modify parameters according to your joomla users table
that what is used on piwigo.org to link PEM and forums tables

other features ask a lot of work...
