I define the gallery as my little site, i.e. www.photos.ireneeng.com

‘Album’ in piwigo means a specific and definite url that can be moved around but can’t be changed. Did I get this right?

So far, I have only created virtual album (by using admin/add (under Photo)/ existing album or create a new album ..)

To organize, for example, travel pix that included place, people, things, etc. I file them under Wanderlust, then by date/trip, and then by each day.

IF I want to get the following ‘groups’ at my finger tip, what should I do:

i.e. most favored shots (incl people/place/object, etc ), funny shots, bikers, etc. I don’t think the 'tag' would do because it would get all ‘funny shots’or ‘bikers’ out when I only wanted few funny pix or bikers from this particular trip. Any suggestions?

I don’t want to create hundreds of albums - that will drive myself nuts! I only up loaded a few pix and I have 34 virtual albums!

There is a plugin to convert tags to "keywords." When searching, you would have the option of selecting tags as keywords to search for.

Perhaps you can set up smart albums with the SmartAlbums plugin and define tags for trips also, so you can then filter photos by "bikers" and (trip name here). Of course, that would give you more albums but if you want a certain selection to be displayed for awhile, that's one way to do it.

Following Irene's way of organizing pictures, isn't there an easy way to gather albums in collections, such as Flickr???
