[resolved] Tags hierarchy

I´m not sure if someone have already discussed this. A very usefull improvement to Piwigo is to have a way to classify the tags like groups for users. So I may have a "people" group o f tags that could handle all imported facetags from picasa.
Another very interesting group of tags coud be "locations" witch handle this kind of taks.
Also is possible to implement "permission" group of tags, as requested here http://piwigo.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=21427.
Seems to me it is not an easy implementation but coud be handled in some future release.

Thankyou.

Re: [resolved] Tags hierarchy

One purpose, for the Visitor point of view, is to show a property 'who are in this photo' And show names separated from the rest of the tags. Also search in tags could have search on names, search on places, etc.
Places could be hierarchy, like location inside city inside country, so if someone search for a city group it can include all locations from that city automaticaly.
For the admins could have more flexibility to organize tags.
There are more features i can talk about when using groups of tags.

Re: [resolved] Tags hierarchy

I think you'd better use albums for that
Remember that a photo can be in more that one album

Because how you describe this feature it would be very similar and asks heavy additional development

Re: [resolved] Tags hierarchy

that's taxonomy problem/philosophy: Piwigo only use 'Album' as item to receive contents and to be ordered
