Hi,
at bugtracker someone asked about html5 upload of files. This means drag and drop support and folder upload (but this is not well supported yet). At discussion, freechelmi propose plupload (www.plupload.com) and flop25 propose http://blueimp.github.io/jQuery-File-Upload/index.html
At this point jquery-file-upload has 2700 forks and blueimp 518.
As requested we can discuss here witch one (or another else) may best fit for piwigo project.

hi and thx again
Plupload seems more mature

I didn't know jQuery-File-Upload but it seems very active. I really don't know what's the best option for the long run.

Having a quick look at demos, jquery-file-upload comes with preview before upload and plupload not.
So there is +1 to jquery-file-upload.

About mobile, i have no ios device but i have a try with android. Multiple file upload seems to work but file picker is a little bit annoing because i needed to pick files one by one - there is no multiple select enabled. Not sure if i'm doing something wrong. Someone may describe the expected way to work on ios device?

On android, does it prompt you to choose a gallery app? If yes you should try with Quickpic

I think there is a way to tell Android multiselection is allowed, I already saw websites where we can upload multiple files from Android (don't remember witch ones)

Quickpic is cool but when uploading it do not allow multiple upload. When call the app standalone it permits multiple select. Googleling seems there is no support for the multiple upload, at least on standartd way. I´ll dig more.

I have iOS and Android devices. With jQuery-File-Upload the multiple selection works fine on iOS 6 (does not work on iOS 5), but not on Android.

With pupload embedded in Wordpress 3.5, with iOS 6, I can only select 1 photo in my iPad library.

I would say pupload is used by WP a good point for maturity, stability and long term ; jQuery-File-Upload seems more like a trendy jQuery plugin
Moreover, the Android/iOS ratio is still growing and >1
