I'm also looking forward for this solution. I need to set all of my photos and album into private by default.

Include all of the next new photos / albums will be private by default.

1/ Go to Administration -> plugins -> Manage
activate [extension by Piwigo Team] LocalFiles Editor

2/ Go tio administration -> pLugins -> local file editor -> tab 'local config'

$conf['newcat_default_status'] = 'private';

Thanks for the reply. any way, how to set by all album permission by default for groups and users ?

Automatically set all albums into :
Permission granted for groups : group1, group2
Permission granted for users : user1, user2, user3

Re: set all album as private by default ?

In 2.6 permissions can be automatically inherited from the parent album. For "root" albums it will still be a manual change
