Several beta-testers have already reported that they didn't find how to edit a specific user with the new user manager. Once you understand you can click on the "angle-down" icon, it's easy, but this design choice is not obvious for everyone.
I'm wondering how it could be improved, ie more obvious.
mistic suggest a icon-pencil + "edit" text and I agree that it makes things much more obvious. But I have 2 problems with this design :
1) very long (think about German "bearbeiten")
2) has to be replaced by "x close" when the profile is opened, and the string has a different length, which changes the position of text on each line, unless we have a specif cell for it.
Another thing that makes ergonomy confusing is that we have both the icon to open the user profile and the checkbox to select the user for batch actions. The most important is the user profile, I personnaly use the user manager 99% of the time for a single user, not for batch actions. Maybe we should remove the checkbox and just mark the line as selected with a specific color (green) when you click on the line.

Yes, I will try a suggestion, quite close to Mistic's one : reuse the same kind of presentation that for the
'Albums' management 'List' subitem.
When one mouses over a given user, then display a one line list of items
(well, the most important ones, may be). IMHO, this could give a better feeling of unicity to the management menus, and it's quite compact.
So, ergonomy could be OK, but what about coding ? and multi-language ? And ...
Hope this helps, Gilbert.

That is a good suggestion. I can imagine an "icon-pencil edit" link on the right of the username when the mouse is over the line. I'll give it a try.

Good indeed
Keeping the same display and using a quick edit link to expand like WordPress

grodid, you can test it on your beta test 2.6

It would be better to have "icon-pencil edit" and to change it to "icon-close close", but the "close" string is not available in Piwigo 2.6. I will change it for Piwigo 2.7 and use the proper icons (unless we have a better idea).

That's just fine. Thanks. G.
