Error message after upgrade to piwigo 2.6.1

Hi All,

Last week I performed an upgrade of my website www.van-roosendaal.net to the latest version. I used the automatic upgrade mechanism in the admin page.
After the upgrade I got a message the upgrade was successfully executed, but going to my site I get the following error:

Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'SmartyException' with message 'Unable to load template file '

Any ideas what is causing this, and even more: how to solve this?

Hope you can help!!

Regards,
Marco

Re: Error message after upgrade to piwigo 2.6.1

Thanks for the answer.
The first possible solution did not solve my problem, then you say:

If that doesn't solved the issue:
- check if you have incompatible plugins, in the management page of Plugins. Update them or disable any plugin not compatible

How can I access the management page as the only thing I see is a huge error message?
Can you please help?

Re: Error message after upgrade to piwigo 2.6.1

of course those are general instructions

check for the file themes\default\local_head.tpl its existence, its chmod, and its owner

Re: Error message after upgrade to piwigo 2.6.1

Thanks for your help!

The file does exist
The chmod (although hosted on windows) is adfrw and filezilla indicates (0755) behind it.
The owner is 500 15000

Re: Error message after upgrade to piwigo 2.6.1

HI Flop25

Do you have any suggestion on how to recover the website again after the upgrade failed?

Thanks in advance for your reply!

Re: Error message after upgrade to piwigo 2.6.1

sry

I don't really see what's the cause of the problem here... the file is there, it seems to be readable...
could you go in the database and tell us what's the theme set for the 'guest' user? you need to check the user id in piwigo_user first then check the thme for that id in piwigo_user_info -from memory-

Re: Error message after upgrade to piwigo 2.6.1

Thanks! I will check it tonight.

Suppose the outcome is that a non supported theme is being used, how can I change that to a supported one?

Thanks in advance, Marco

Re: Error message after upgrade to piwigo 2.6.1

Hmm whatever is written, change the value to 'clear' for instance, to check if the problem comes from here

Re: Error message after upgrade to piwigo 2.6.1

Hi!

I checked the theme and it was set to montblancxl. I changed it both to 'clear' and 'Sylvia' but still the same error message at www.van-roosendaal.net.

I hope you have another option that I can check?

Re: Error message after upgrade to piwigo 2.6.1

T_T

let's delete all tpl compilated files in _data/template_c
test
if still the mess, delete and re upload the theme/default folder

Re: Error message after upgrade to piwigo 2.6.1

I had upload problems with earlier versions, so i decided to install a fresh version and the upload issue was gone. So i have never performed an update on this install before

Installation was done by netinstall i thougt

Ps performed the steps you advised, but still no luck, the error message remains

Re: Error message after upgrade to piwigo 2.6.1

Could you perform a net install in a test folder and compare the files and folders permissions and owners ?
Can you change your OS on your hosting?
