Hello
Piwigo version: 2.7.1
Piwigo URL: http://piwigo.com
Recently I created a brand new gallery for a special project and invited friends and family to take a look.
I was surprised to see from the History Stats that almost 2/3 of the people viewing used a Smartphone.
As a result, they did not see my carefully crafted Photo Descriptions, which do not appear normally.
Apart from this issue, they commented how good the Mobile version is, for Albums, Thumbnails and Photos alike.
I have been investigating the Photo Descriptions and comparing with my usual Desktop Theme i.e. the Stripped Theme. For this, the Description is always displayed at the bottom (see example).
I was wondering if it would be possible to slightly rearrange the Mobile Theme Photo display and to have the Description across the bottom (first line only perhaps)? (Again, see my example screens)
I have some suggestions how the screen might be re-arranged which I shall follow-up with.

Following on from my suggestion about Photo Descriptions, I have attached a mock-up of how the Description might appear without the current "More Information" link.
With the Photo Description appearing where the phrase "More Information" is currently, we could re-arrange the buttons as follows:-
1) Place the (X) in the top right corner
2) Place the Home symbol in the top left corner
3) Place the Slideshow symbol in the bottom left corner
4) Place a new "info." symbol (i) i.e. an 'i' in a circle in the bottom right corner.
I believe the left, right (and if present up arrow symbols) are redundant on a Smartphone.
What do people think?

Hi
this would need you to make a custom child of Smartpocket; but that's not easy :
see http://piwigo.org/dev/browser/trunk/the … ket.js#L10 the "var_trad" variable is populated here http://piwigo.org/dev/browser/trunk/the … ls.tpl#L12 with a static value (the translation of More Info)
but you would need a dynamic value per picture; so something like having data-picture-description="{$thumbnail.DESCRIPTION'}" on thumbnails.tpl, then use the events of photoswipe to change the value or "var_trad" when going next/prev and onshow

Hi Tadjio and flop25,
Here is what I see on a "real" smartphone screen, and this is much smaller than your screenshot.
I think it's a bad idea to try to display the photo description after "More info". There is not enough room. Maybe we could optionally add it next to photo title on top.

I didn't suggest the Description should be after "More info" but rather that it should replace it in that position.
We could have a smaller (i) icon for "more info" and adjust the other icons. (See my second post).

As I said in my previous post, on a smartphone, there is not enough room to display the photo description. But on a tablet, things are different. Maybe we could display the description after the title or instead of "More infos". I also agree that we'd better replace the words "More infos" by a (i) icon.

Attached are two screenshots taken on a SmartPhone (iPhone) in Portrait and Landscape modes.
I have typed a long title that is just too long in Portrait mode but if this was the Description it would fit comfortably with the first line replacing the "More Information" and with the Buttons rearranged as I suggest.
