Edit new duplicate file name at upload?

Hello Folks,

I do a LOT of photography and have several thousand pictures on my sight.  I use two Nikon Cameras, that use, unfortunately, the same numbering system and name for each file name.  I do not change the file names as it is easier to leave them as is for finding purposes in the future.

Is it possible for the automatically change the last digits of a file name at upload if there is a duplicate file name in the system already?

I am now running into duplicate file names, and getting some "interesting" results for pictures when I upload (which has caused me to stop uploading till I get this resolved)...

Piwigo version: 2.8.0

I also like this solved. My former camera was Nikon D80, and now d700. Both of them has rounded 10.000 pics several times. I dont know what damage it could cause. Maybe I just was lucky, that the pics have landed in different folders.
