Slow loading

Hi

My site is very slow to open, once loaded it's not to bad but initially it's painful. I've generated multiple size images in Batch Manager but this hasn't helped.  Do you have any suggestions please?

Re: Slow loading

Hi Chris CJB,

My feeling is that OpenStreetMap is very slow to open. Can you deactivate this plugin just to give a try?

Then can you use plugin LocalFiles Editor to add this in the local configuration :

Code:

<?php
$conf['show_gt'] = true;
?>

Re: Slow loading

I think there is a double effect; sever slow to respond and the openstrettmap delaying further the display

PS: using a CDN can help a lot especially for galleries

Re: Slow loading

Thank you for your swift replies, I'll try your suggestions, or rather get my webmaster to look at them, and let you know.

Re: Slow loading

plg, yes the OSM does slow it down but is essential for my purposes.  I've added the code as suggested.

flop25, The site is hosted by a friend with server space so I'm getting a very good rate for the amount of space I use.  He is looking into it and there is a possibility of moving it onto a Linux server that should be more responsive, currently on Windows.

I'd like to try a different Map, HERE.hybridDay, which is shown as an example in the Map Configuration settings but I can't work out how to do it.  Can anybody help with this please?

Many thanks
