I'm not sure if this is off-topic, but I can't find any useful information in the official videojs pages. I have installed videojs within Piwigo, using the Piwigo web UI. Using videojs, I have rotated an upside down video so that it plays back in the correct rotation. However, the thumbnail remains upside down. The wiki suggests that a videojs-rotatezoom plugin can rotate the thumbnail. How in the world do I install that? The page for it says to use something called "bower", which I've never heard of and don't have on my Debian Wheezy system.
Piwigo version: 2.9.0
PHP version: 5.6.30
MySQL version: 5.5.55

Bower is a package manager for web stuff, which itself requires Node.js installed to be installed with the Node Package Manager (npm). I wouldn't go that route to just install some fancy rotate plugin if you don't use these things anyway.
Rather rotate/flip the video on your local machine and re-upload. VideoJS may have problems with such files though.

Yeah, was hoping to avoid that, but it looks like the easiest resolution. Thanks.
