Hi
I've just installed Piwigo 2.9.2 on my home server.
I can't send an e-mail notifications. When I try to add unsubscribed user(s) to subscribed receive error:
Warning: Mailer Error: Could not instantiate mail function. in /srv/web/piwigo/include/functions_mail.inc.php on line 916
and:
Error when sending email to b.. [...@....]. User b.. [...@....] not added to the subscription list. 1 mail has not been sent. 1 user not updated.
What can I do to solve this issue?
Piwigo version: 2.9.2
PHP version: 5.3.27
MySQL version: 5.0.96
ImageMagick: 7.0.7-7
----------------------------
EDIT:
Maybe I receive this error message because my PHP version has no email support?
I've checked phpinfo and see:
mail.add_x_header Off mail.force_extra_parameters no value mail.log no value sendmail_from no value sendmail_path -t -i MAIL /var/spool/mail/root
What should I do to have mail support in Piwigo? Should I install additional PHP module or maybe recompile PHP?
TIA,

I've manage to solved an issue despite my weak linux knowledge/capabilities. :-)
It turned out that to send emails notifications Piwigo requires additional email software to be installed on server side and appropriate PHP configuration (in the php.ini file).
I tried program/software called 'sendmail' but it was hassle... (ancient, not user friendly software)
So I installed MSMTP and configured it to send emails.
I followed this well written guidance
Regards,
