original_url_protection

Hi,

can someone explain me what this parameter exactly does?

I thought this would 'protect' images called per url.

Example:
Opening images directly per url:
http://domain/galleries/people/image123.jpg

should be forbidden.

I tried to add this in locale files editor as described in the reference:
// one of '', 'images', 'all'
//TODO: Put this in admin and also manage .htaccess in #sites and upload folders
$conf['original_url_protection'] = '';

But can not see any changes.
Opening images directly (if I know the url) is still possible.

So I guess I am understandig something wrong.

An so my question is:
What does this entry in the local files editor protect?

Cheers
Ralf

Re: original_url_protection

Hello
this just makes Piwigo using everytime for images or all media the url i.php?xx instead of the direct url to the picture
as written you have to manually add an htaccess to then restrict the direct access to the picture
Be aware that will have an impact on the performances
