Greetings, fellow Piwigo-people :)
I upgraded from server 1 running Piwigo 2.8.6, to server 2 running Piwigo 2.9.3.
For this server 2 I created a new CentOS7-instance, installed Apache/PHP/MariaDB, uploaded the 2.9.3 files, copied the database from server 1, and copied these folders (including contents) from server 1.
- galleries
- upload
- plugins
- themes
- template-extension
- local
- _data
All seemed to be working like it should on server 2, until I hit 'refresh' on a (random) picture or gallery page. This error messages then shows up at the top of the page:
Warning: file_put_contents(./_data/combined/9gg5c5.css): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /var/www/html/piwigo/include/template.class.php on line 1927
Going to the next picture clears the error message from the screen. It only (re-)appears after a browser refresh.
And in the admin section, if I try to download/add a theme, I get this error message:
Fatal error: Uncaught RuntimeException: The file could not be written to. Check that appropriate permissions have been set. in /var/www/html/piwigo/include/Logger.class.php:149 Stack trace: #0 /var/www/html/piwigo/include/Logger.class.php(321): Logger->open() #1 /var/www/html/piwigo/include/Logger.class.php(310): Logger->write('[2018-03-08 23:...') #2 /var/www/html/piwigo/include/Logger.class.php(205): Logger->log(7, 'extract_theme_f...', NULL, Array) #3 /var/www/html/piwigo/admin/include/themes.class.php(625): Logger->debug('extract_theme_f...') #4 /var/www/html/piwigo/admin/themes_new.php(62): themes->extract_theme_files('install', '6122', '852') #5 /var/www/html/piwigo/admin/themes.php(46): include('/var/www/html/p...') #6 /var/www/html/piwigo/admin.php(311): include('/var/www/html/p...') #7 {main} thrown in /var/www/html/piwigo/include/Logger.class.php on line 149
I was quite sure I set the correct permissions, but apparently not...
I am having trouble analysing the error message. I am not sure what to edit where, in order to make it work. Anyone any tips/tricks? :)
I do not have any plugins running.
And I unzipped the file piwigo-2.9.3.zip on my server 2 itself. So no FTP'ing of seperate files here.
Server 1 is still online. Server 2 can (for now) be accessed only from inside my LAN.
For the record... Server details.

Hello
that's a server administration issue ; we just can tell you that PHP need to be able to write everywhere
and usually a chmod of 644 for files 755 for folders
