Hello/Hi/Greetings,
I have migrated piwigo from a Xampp to an Ubuntu server, at first everything looked fine, but soon some problems started to surface. The quick search field stopped working, I fixed that by installing php-xml and php-mbstring as suggested somewhere here. My problem now is that I can't upload photos to the database, I get "error during buffer directory creation" and the consol complains something about uploadCategory is null, probably something that I'm missing from the migration. Any ideas what could that be?
I tried to run all the maintenance tools, but no luck. The repair and optimize database returns an error:
"Optimisations have been completed with some errors.", however, if i run mysqlcheck <database> from the terminal or with the repair or analyze I get no errors. I guess these two are related, I just don't know how.

Hi,
I sorted out the problem with the "error buffer directory creation", for some reasons when I copy the "upload" folder contents to my new installation the permissions were set too high and the www-data had no access to the "buffer" folder. Changing permissions of the folder to 777 solved the problem.
I still have problems with the tool for repairing and optimizing the database. I made a fresh install of piwigo and added a couple of pictures and I'm still getting the same error so it is not related to the migration from Windows, but something to do with Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. Any ideas where I might need to look?
