Hello,
I like your gallery and the managing system you have add it.
I like the environment you have put around the pictures medias.

I wish add new functionnality on your project.

My wish is :
replace picture by movies.
For make a (private, warning to law) streaming platform. ;-)

I do that now with a small php script.
the script retrieve list of a ftp (directory and file).
and when you click on a link, the script build an object of internet player.

and by this way, I can stream movies easily.
actually, it is hard to have many user in same time.
BUT in the near future, it is not a problem.
the internet line grow by a big factor.

object divx player is only one, after we can add other :
1°) DIVX
2°) WMP
3°) Flash
4°) Real
5°) Quick Time
6°) etc...

3°) streamer (windows media encoder)

5°) torrent... ;-)

REQUEST:
1°) I have knowledge in PHP,JAVA,HTML,SQL programmation.
And too about media streaming and servers.
You let me the right to modify your projet ?

2°) It is difficult to understand all the project in one time.
Someone can help me for know where to modify quickly.
After I can provide the source code for integration.

I hope I have not too many write.
Who are interested by that?

See in extension (Link in header) you could find something...
Look for [extension by jdd] Charlies' content.
Look for [extension by mistic100] Embedded Videos as well.

If you prefer, you can code your own picture.tpl based on template-extensions logic (have a look to help (?) in Admin > Configuration > Templates).

Another way is to code your own plugin, maybe a simplied version of Charlies' could be sufficient.

Moore's law is related to Hardware components.

Net limitations are based on the lowest network connections.

Networks are differents if you are leaving in London, San Francisco, San Jose, Chicago or in Areka (Ethiopia), Fassi (Grand Comoro), Pearshape ( King Island - Tasmania), Parlamento (East Timor) or Clipperton island (France).
IMHO, if you rely on Clippertown island connections, you must forget all video streams for many years.

Congratulation for your plug-in.
But like you tell. I do write one new plugin.

It is because my system read in FTP directory.
It only list a FTP and create shortcut and player for see video.
I have many video on my hard drives, I wish not enter all data manualy.

network are build with hardware.
But if we count right, you have hardware factor and compression factor.

You have right, the stream go to slowest speed of network.

Yes, you have right. this place have bad connection internet. In most case, because it is smalls islands. With the level up of sea, in few time we do not speak about this islands.
The case is solve.

Yes, you're right, FTP is a good reason to create a new plugin.
Generally coding, we don't care of this case.

These places could have expensive and excellent internet connections but "Islands and level of the sea" has nothing to deal with.

For your perfect information:
- Ethiopia is not a small island at all.
- Grand Comoro is a small island but Karthala (2,361 m) is its highest point.
- King Island (Tasmania) is also a small, that's true but its highest point is Mount Stanley (213 m (700 ft)) and I hope we could have always lobsters from there.
- East Timor have 1,134,000 people, you don't care? Highest point: Tatamailau 2,963 m.

Yes:
- Clipperton island (France) will disappear from maps but we could hope that the "Rocher de Clipperton" which is 29 m high could resist a bit longer than us.
