Re: Caddy - real dumb question...

it is an administration feature : connected as admin, add your photos in your caddie. Then go to the Admin>Photos>Caddie screen and manage them.

Maybe we should change the name to "admin basket", I think it would be more obvious + add a link "Go to basket" in the "identification" box of the menubar.

Re: Caddy - real dumb question...

I second your question! I haven't got a clue what its for either.
I use it sometimes for marking several photos to make edits/delete to groups of photos at the same time.
But I do not believe thats what it was ment for.

Edit: as i replied the answer was given.. so never mind :)

Re: Caddy - real dumb question...

Thanks for the answer.  The word 'caddy' is fine  [drag along]. I had not used it since I did not know what it does. It seems I was able to do everything I needed to do without having used the caddy.
Well, am just getting used to the script, so it's a journey of discoveries.

Hi there. I just started using Piwigo and I wondered the same thing.

Thanks for a very precise answer.

Thank you.

Thanks for the answer, "caddie" is not at all clear... it sounds overly lingo-ed. (As a newbie it's a little obtuse).

Re: Caddy - real dumb question...

I ran into the same question and eventually figured out what the "Caddie" could be used for. It's a convenient feature to have, but I had never even heard the word caddie before, so I had no clue what to expect. I was suspecting a shopping cart feature at first, until I changed the language to my native German: Sammelkorb makes so much more sense! Unfortunately, it is one of those German words that don't seem to have a direct English translation.

What I'm trying to figure out right now is: Once I have images in there, how to I remove them from the Caddy again?

Re: Caddy - real dumb question...

To remove them from the caddy simple select the ones you want to remove, scroll down the page to the dropdown menu and select 'remove from caddy'.

Re: Caddy - real dumb question...

Thanks for the hint! I eventually found it, but I was looking in the wrong places at first (on the edit image pages).

Re: Caddy - real dumb question...

We have no use for the caddie as we added the "Collections" plug-in which is great.  So can i remove the "Caddie" option from the menu for ALL users - including admins.  It tends to make the menu bigger than it needs to be and causes alot of confusion.

Thanks

Caddy is only for admin, so that's not a problem

Strangely I have no "caddy" in the  Admin>Photos> but "collection". Maybe it is because I installed a plugin User_Collection, and it renamed "caddy" in the admin menu?
