Successful upgrade 2.1.0

it went smoothly. Fantastic work from the PIWIGO Team.

A few snags I found:
1. the grum plugin did the auto upgrade, but then everything was broken, fatal DB errors on several lines.
Solved it that way: did a manual download of the latest version [same as auto upgrade supposedly installed successfully], looked with ftp - the plugin was 'not' there. Uploaded the one I downloaded last night], logged back in to admin, there the plugin showed up twice, I selected the second [identical] one, activated - voila, no hitch - and it placed without errors.

2. ERROR message on the bottom of plugin page:
add_index: Plugin missing but it is installed! Uninstall it now
admin_advices: Plugin missing but it is installed! Uninstall it now

just wondering what that really means: has version 2.1 these 2 already built in - ergo asking for uninstall
or
needs manual upload now?

Have not uninstalled it yet until I know exactly what to do with it.

The manual sort order is the most time saving new feature - THANK YOU so much.

Now am just waiting for an upgrade for the Lightbox. Then my life is complete.

btw: I wound up having to move the PIWIGO copyyright notice in the footer to the right versus the center. But clearly visible.

I did not plan to maintain that one any more, for many reasons (bad name, complex to translate in other languages, and more).

Maybe this year, I could build a new plugin in this way but before I have other priorities.

Re: Successful upgrade 2.1.0

so it's OK to delete it. What about the 'add_index' ?

also delete it? I thought this one is required, but maybe not in 2.1 version

Thanks again for quick answer to my post.

Re: Successful upgrade 2.1.0

I am not the add_index author, he could confirm following points:

If you planned to use pLoader (or Admin > Photos > Add) only then don't care of add_index.

If you planned to use FTP+Synchro them add_index for security reasons (or some .htaccess rules) has to be installed / activated / and used on regular basis.

If you planned to use "Distant sites" then again you don't care of it.

Re: Successful upgrade 2.1.0

Thank you, that clears it up for me. I use primarily FTP.

Re: Successful upgrade 2.1.0

Hi - I had the Newsletter announcement of Piwigo 2.1.0, and have the Autoupgrade Plugin installed and activated already.  When I check for upgrade I can see that one is available, but I'm not offered the option of installing it ...

Did you update the plugin itself? (it has been improved to support the "big" upgrades)
Did you go to the specific screen Admin>Specials>Plugins>PiwigoAutoUpgrade ?
What is your current Piwigo version?

Re: Successful upgrade 2.1.0

Thanks PLG. I'm running Piwigo 2.0.10 and Autoupgrade Plugin 2.0.h. When I download the latest version of the Plugin, it is stored as a set of files elsewhere on my comuter; when I click on the files they simply open in Dreamweaver.  What do I need to do to install the new version of the Plugin?

In Piwigo adminisatration pannel, open the plugins manager, then open "Check for updates" tab.
Then you can "Automatic upgrade" Piwigo AutoUpgrade plugin to version 2.1.c.

After that, you should be able to upgrade to piwigo 2.1.1

Try to open it by 7-zip or any software (not windows).

Can you send me the archive?
