Install piwigo error

Error message is :Cannot connect to server
My mysql user is root ,password is root, I can login to mysql by cmd.
I can not upload the error pic.why?
Please help me.Ths very much.

Did you change the passwords for root ?
The default password is empty with Xampp ?
