I haven't installed Piwigo yet, I've a couple of questions I need answered first
This is the show stopper
I've been trying to get an alternative gallery to work without success. I was trying to set user permissions, the problem was with PHP stuff 'mod_rewrite' and 'AllowOverride' and getting them to work using a .htaccess file.

First question, will i have to mess about with a htaccess file to get permissions to work - any problems along this line at all.

Second question (only a little one) stand alone pages yes/no if yes how are they shown

A 'no problems' answer to the first would-be nice
