I have got piwigo to work on Ubuntu (with LAMP server). I have not played around the app too much except setup couple of albums and users etc.

I wanted to make sure the configuration/security on the OS level is ironed out before I publish the site on the Internet. So I was wondering if some one could help with the folowing:

Album is installed in 'var/www/album' - what should be the permissions on www and album folders?
Also this is more of a apache question but I want to make album the default path for the site - how do I do that?

I am relatively new to Linux/apche so anything else I would appreciate any other advice you might have to secure the site before I publish it, would be greatly appreciated.
