I'm using 2.3.3, stripped theme, with the image_preview plugin, which I really like. However, the mouseover preview is always labelled "undefined" regardless of the image name or description. Any clues/help would be much appreciated

I've seen the problem on your website : disable the display of the name of the picture for Image Preview, in its config page

the problem is due to the use of a theme not similar to the default theme : the plugin can't retrieve the caption of a thumbnails

You should update your Piwigo Gallery to current version.
