Up arrow to Thumbnails
One feature in Pikfu (which I have been using up to now) is a simple one which I would recommend for Piwigo.
Just as we can press the left or right arrows on the keyboard to go to the previous and next images, could we use keyboard "up-arrow" to go to the Thumbnails page, corresponding to the screen up-arrow icon?

its Ctrl - up arrow ...
also have Ctrl Home for first photo, Ctrl End for last

That's great, thanks.
As a keyboard fanatic rather than a mouse man I appreciate that,
especially as I see on v2.4 that the First and Last icons have gone.
However, for ordinary users, why can't we have plain "up-arrow"?
Is there any keyboard mapping within piwigo.com?

I would say that it's because it oftens happens that up-arrow is relevant for scrolling the page (while right-arrow/left-arrow are not)

Nothing specific on Piwigo.com concerning keyboard mapping.

I would say not!
If my image is too wide for the screen, left and right arrow are used for scrolling the page as well, and don't function as 'prev' and 'next'. Up-arrow should work the same :-)
