Virtual album as parent for a physical album
Hello,
I just installed piwigo today and I migrated my photos from 2bgal. In 2bgal, my photos were in a physical album in the directory /img
The tree of the albums was managed with some virtual album.
I just moved my directories and photos to /galleries in piwigo. My problem, is that all the albums are at the same level in my new piwigo gallery....
I don't want to put /upload and only virtual albums as I will have to reorganize 350 photos....
I don't want to organize my albums with some physical albums as I have put a .htaccess to redirect the old links to the new ones.
My question : is it possible to have a virtual album as parent album of a physical parent
For example : in /gallery I will have : /p1 /p2 /p3 /p4
On the gallery organization
v1/p1
v1/v2/p2
v3/p3
v3/p3

You could always just reorganize the directory structure and resynchronize.
There's a plugin called "Virtualize" which converts physical albums to virtual. Unfortunately it hasn't been upgraded to 2.4 yet. Once that is done, you'll be to do what you want to do. Don't try running it now!

Hello,
thanks for your answer.
As said before, I don't want to reorganize the physical folders as I put a redirect in my old folder to the new one.
the plugin virtualize can be a good idea, as it will automatically create my virtual folders. And the I will only have to change my redirect file so all my aold folders redirect to upload

you can't have a mix a virtual and physical album in a branch of your gallery, only beside.
The best is to wait for an update of the virtualize plugin ; you can still move physically your folders and synchro, only if you have few informations related to pictures/albums. If you already have descriptions, ratings, comments... just wait ^^

Do you think it can be an evolution to have physical folder children of virtual folder ?
If yes can i mark the topic as todo ?

No.
The plugin only converts physical albums to virtual ones.
It helps you make the change from a "physical" logic to a "virtual albums" logic, which is more in line with piwigo way of working.

You can mark it as todo if you want to make such a plugin: The "todo" flags are only for yourself;)
If you mark a topic as todo, you will have "X post in your todo list" on the log line at the top of the screen.
Nobody else will see it as "todo".
