Picasa To Piwigo Export

Hello,

what is the best way to import picasa albums to my piwigo web site? (ideally with all image descriptions etc). Is there a plug in that can do it or which simply can show albums (similar to this one for joomla: http://www.phoca.cz/demo/coolirs-3d-wall)?

Thanks!

Re: Picasa To Piwigo Export

Hi Skywalker,

Unfortunately, there is currently no direct upload from Picasa to Piwigo. I have planned to work on it : Picasa Web Uploader API (I don't know why but the page is currently said as "deprecated").

Re: Picasa To Piwigo Export

this would be great.  use Picasa to locally manage your photos, then directly upload to your Piwigo site.

Re: Picasa To Piwigo Export

I tried two weeks ago, Picasa API is a hell ! And it ask more than PHP knowledges
Instead I developped Flickr2Piwigo (much more easy)

Anyway if I can't finish it during these hollydays, I will publish my WIP, hopping someone could continue

Should know that Google doesn't support Picasa API anymore, it could be totally removed in a future version

Re: Picasa To Piwigo Export

maybe https://developers.google.com/picasa-web/ is better than the Picasa desktop api

That is not related. Picasa is the desktop application while Picasa Web Albums is the photo gallery on the web.

anyway, in the google ecosystem picasa is going to be delted or merged into google+ thing
Picasa for linux will be stopped and the api is deprecated so... big changes incoming !

I have serious doubts about that. How can you merge a desktop application (Picasa) with a web site (Google+) ?

The Picasa API has been marked as deprecated for years, and many import plugins still work on it.

But I agree that Picasa Web Albums is dying: Google is merging it with Google+.
