Problem with Batch Downloader

Hi,

I have been using Batch Downloader for a while now but all of a sudden it doesn't like downloading vast quantities of photos. It is fine between 1-20 but anything higher the page just keeps loading and nothing happens.

I have the parameters set to the highest for file size and number of files. I have also installed User Collections but it still doesn't make a difference. It is the main reason I use Piwigo for my clients to access 80-100 photos at a time and at the moment it is causing a real problem.

How do I fix Batch Downloader or is their an alternative?

Re: Problem with Batch Downloader

the capacity of ZipArchive is limited by your servers specs

the only way to download large sets is to decrease the number of files by ZIP, your clients will have to download 2 or more archive in order to get the whole set

Re: Problem with Batch Downloader

So why did it work and then suddenly didn't?

Re: Problem with Batch Downloader

perhaps your host dropped down the resources available for each account

as it's sudden, it can only by from the environment, I didn't program a self-destruct feature :-)

Re: Problem with Batch Downloader

It is certainly not my host as I have double checked this.

It would appear that for downloads of 30+ photos the website is loading and then timing out. The download then appears in the download page section has being completed.

Re: Problem with Batch Downloader

Well that's certainly not the plugin because I didn't change anything in the generation process

sorry I don't have any solution

(and I consider this plugin as experimental as I highly depends on the server ressources)

Re: Problem with Batch Downloader

Thanks for your help. I'll re-direct my question to my server hosts and see if they can shine anymore light.
