after host upgrade to PHP5.3 and site upgrade to Piwigo 2.5 no images

Hi,
I have just upgraded (automatically) to Piwigo 2.5 after my host upgraded to PHP5.3 (with support for 5.4) as I found that although all my thumbnails on site were fine, the resizes do not work other than the original size. Also, when uploading new images, I get no thumbnails created at all, and can only view the original size image.

After the upgrade to 2.5, I still have the same problem, only old thumbnails, and original size images, new uploads do not show thumbs.

I am relatively new to Piwigo, but love the way it handles etc and would love to keep using it, but unless I can find the issue here (or a way to create all the resizes), I would need to change again :(

Any help appreciated.

Mick

Re: after host upgrade to PHP5.3 and site upgrade to Piwigo 2.5 no images

I checked the  FAQ and all there still did not help, as the i-errors do not log either (if i put the code in the correct place, as the how to is a little vague there), using batch to regenerate the sizes, gives this error at the top of page "10 photos can not be regenerated"

My image gallery is at all-wallz.com

Many thanks in advance.

According to the faq what error message do you get?

Re: after host upgrade to PHP5.3 and site upgrade to Piwigo 2.5 no images

Hi Flop25,

Many thanks for the reply, there was no error message at all, in fact, when pasting the url (with i.php) it redirected me back to the home page.

And nothing shows up in the error log either.

Hmm do you have a .htaccess at the root of Piwigo? if yes rename it, to see its influence. In no, well post a link plz

Re: after host upgrade to PHP5.3 and site upgrade to Piwigo 2.5 no images

Hi Flop25,

Many thanks again for the reply.

I have removed the .htaccess file, to no avail, it still does exactly the same as described above.

I have also double checked file permissions as per the instructions at http://piwigo.org/doc/doku.php?id=user_ … es_missing and all are as specified. I do note however, that the actual image directory, originals, is cmod 777 not 755. not sure if this would help any

my gallery as stated before, is at www.all-wallz.com and I have left 3 images i attempted to upload today there, as it shows no thumbs, the other existing images (before today) you will see have thumbs, and originals only, but will not create resizes.

Thanks again

"NetworkError: 500 Internal Server Error - http://www.all-wallz.com/i.php?/upload/ … true"
it seems your server can't handle the resizing
What's the graphical library? following http://piwigo.org/doc/doku.php?id=user_ … es_missing

and I know it has a 12mb upload limit, which I always ensure I am well under.

I have also opened a ticket with a senior systems tech at my host, but unfortunately, he is normally slow to respond, since he is a higher up tech, but he is the only one I deal with at the host as the others do not seem to know what they are doing lol...

Thanks again

Re: after host upgrade to PHP5.3 and site upgrade to Piwigo 2.5 no images

^^ that's ok

could you try $conf['graphics_library'] = 'gd'; in the local config using Localfiles editor

Re: after host upgrade to PHP5.3 and site upgrade to Piwigo 2.5 no images

Many thanks, that seemed to work, as per below:-

Environment

        Operating system: Linux
        PHP: 5.3.22 (Show info) [2013-03-12 07:38:58]
        MySQL: 5.1.67-rel14.3-log [2013-03-12 07:38:58]
Graphics Library: GD bundled (2.0.34 compatible)

and images, thumbs etc are all loading now. It is strange though as to why the auto setting does not work.

Thanks again

Re: after host upgrade to PHP5.3 and site upgrade to Piwigo 2.5 no images

ImageMagik is way better but can be wrongly set/install on some host. Contact them to explain you get 500 errors by using Imagemagik through Imagick
