Hello, I just updated my ploader to version 2.0.7 and now every time I upload a new image the image name changes to a string of numbers.
original file name was: very-berry-tin-tea-set-open-20cm.jpg
uploaded file name is now: 20140715110700-080c52b6.jpg
How can I stop this from happening? My customers search by these names. And having them changed it not good for me or them. Why would anyone think this is a good thing???
Piwigo version: •Piwigo 2.6.3
PHP version: 5.3.28 (Show info) [2014-07-15 14:49:02]
MySQL version: 5.5.36-cll [2014-07-15 11:49:02]

Hello
do you mean the files inside upload/ ? that's done that way to avoid pictures to be found if they are private, and that's internal to piwigo itself
piwigo is not a storage. only the ftp upload doesn't change anything
the filename is however used to build the title of the picture so it's perfectly browsable and good for seo

I am talking about the name of the image on the screen I have attached a screen shot.

yeah that's what I'm talking about

So if I upload an image using IE I get to retain my original image name, but if I use pLoader it gets changed?
Offline
no
just try

I just did a simple test by uploading 2 images to the Test-Album. The image of the Brio Green box that I uploaded via IE kept actual image name. The brio train set that I uploaded via pLoader turned the name into the string of numbers.
I setup a guest account for all to see. Username: flop25 and password: flop25

I don't know where comes that file field: THAT's the origin of this mess
as you can see the real filename are randomized in any cases
http://piwig.schylling.net/piwigo/_data … 23e-la.jpg
http://piwig.schylling.net/piwigo/_data … de7-la.jpg
and the name of the picture has been set from the original filename uploaded, everything as I said

okay seems like somewhere, plg has implemented a 'false' file name
I'm investigating

okay I never knew that... the 'file' field is the filename of the uploaded file (so here ploader is wrong -you were right my apologies- but ploader is no more maintained, we recommend using web upload; ploader comes from a time where we didn't have the flash upload, and in 2.7 the html5 uploader is even better ), the 'name' is build from that filename -extension, and the 'path' is the real location of the pict with its new filename
so in your case I do recommend using the web uploader(s) or use the name, since the name is the file name witjout extension and you don't seem to change it later one...
