Scanning

Hi Folks,

I have a lot of photo albums dating from the pre-digital age, and I want to scan them and organize them in Piwigo. Scanning will be laborious, but then I want to add whatever information I know, like times, dates, and location as though they had been taken with a digital camera.

Anybody have any good advice for this project?

Thanks for the help,

Chris.

Re: Scanning

I've done thousands and thousands of slides for family and friends, probably doing similar things like what you are trying to do.

Best advice... Scan a tray at a time and make that a full photo album.

If you want to batch edit EXIF info on the images and not specifically in PiwiGo, you can do it in LightRoom under Metadata.

I've also used ExifTool/Exifer.

Most people only really care about the date and time to make sorting work properly.  The tools above make it very easy and very fast to do just that.

If you want to make it searchable... then you can add tags into PiwiGo....
