MacSharePiwigo

After the iPhoto and the Aperture export plugins, Marcsins strikes back with [extension by marcsins] MacShareToPiwigo, a new uploader for MacOSX users. MacSharePiwigo comes as a "sharing module".

http://piwigo.org/forum/showimage.php?pid=161380&filename=macsharepiwigo.jpg

* install on your MacOSX 10.10 minimum (Yosemite)
* select photos in Finder
* in the "secondary click" menu, share > Piwigo

You can also share from Apple Photos, the application replacing iPhoto.

MacSharePiwigo is in beta-test, we need your feedback to make it as robust as possible.

Won't go through the install. I get to the "Select Destination" screen, but I can't click 'Continue'.

Same for me.  This occurs with the latest version (1.20) when running on Yosemite.  I found elsewhere someone mentioned that this doesn't happen on El Capitan, but I'm not yet ready to upgrade my mac (haven't heard anything positive about El Capitan).  I tried installing version 1.10, which is also compatible with 2.7, and that installation worked.  However, when I try to actually use this extension to upload photos from the Photos app to Piwigo (ie., I highlight some pictures, right click, and select Share -> Piwigo), it fails to do anything.  I see the following error logged to the system console:

I'll add that, though trying to run this extension on photos within the Photos app fails to start (no dialog window is opened), the extension did start up (once) when I invoked Share -> Piwigo on a file in Finder.  However, it crashed when I entered the connection information and submitted the photo, and now it crashes immediately every time I try to invoke the extension (no dialog window is opened again).

Re: MacSharePiwigo

This is a very useful extension for El Captain (currently 10.11.2). Many thanks.

On issue I discovered with this beta is a memory consumption that leads to a memory overflow when uploading numerous files. I attach screenshots showing the increase of memory used when sending a series of photos. When uploading something like 80 files, the system finally displays an error message because the extension uses x GB of RAM.

Can this be fixed?

Re: MacSharePiwigo

I would like to add that the worst situation happens after a number of uploads. At first, I thought that it would be related with the screensaver activity but that is not the case.

For an unknown reason, the memory used by the extension increases suddenly very rapidly up to several 10th of GB (see screen shot). The network activity stops right before the amount or memory explodes.
