permanent process detected problem

Piwigo version: 2.7.4
PHP version:  5.2.17
MySQL version: 5.5.46
Piwigo URL: http://

Hi

I'm just in the process of posting a website that includes a Piwigo gallery.

Installed it okay on my test server but when I ftp'd the files to the customers own host (heartinternet) they blocked scripting saying...

"We have detected that your hosting package is running a permanent
server process. This is a process which runs continuously rather than
running only in response to web site hits. This may indicate that your
site has been compromised, in which case it may be distributing viruses
and/or attacking other sites on our servers.

Permanent server processes are against our terms, so scripting has been
disabled on this package, but FTP remains enabled."

Has anybody else experienced this.
Does your rather marvellous utility actual contain such code?

Thanks

Re: permanent process detected problem

Hi mistic100

Thanks for responding.

I got the code installed and working perfectly.  I then uploaded quite a few photos and all was well.

It all worked perfectly until Heart Internet blocked script execution because of the alleged permanently running server code.

The file they sited as one of the many offending ones was a simple jpeg photo file.

Seems very odd.  I assume Piwigo does not need to run anything permanently and simple responds to individual web requests.

Re: permanent process detected problem

The only "heavy" process is the photo resizing, which takes... lets say... 50 millisecond for a 8Mpx photo (I imagine the numbers but it's something like that).

I suggest you contact them to ask what exacly is the problem. As far as I know nobody get ever blocked for this reason.

And ultimately: change your hosting provider to something more serious.
https://www.ovh.co.uk has their datacenters in France and a large bandwidth across the entire Western Europe.

Re: permanent process detected problem

Hi mistic100

Again thanks for responding.

That's pretty much what I thought.  Some of the images I sent up may have been a bit big I suppose and there where quite a few images; I'll batch them in future.

Anyway they have unlocked script execution now so I'll re-install and see how it goes.

Many thanks for your input.

Best regards
