Hello/Hi/Greetings,
I am looking for a way to restrict downloading (well the visibility of the download icon) by user group or user name.
I know you can do the following which seem to work globally and affect all user groups and users
- turn off Downloading altogether within Configuration->Options and you can grant
- restrict download of particular album photos using the Download Permissions plugin
Is there anyway to do the above based on groups or particular users?
I would like to have a view only group (with no download permissions).
If there is not a builtin option: Is there somewhere in the API that I could hack so that I can control the display of the download icon perhaps by editing something within the localfiles editor.
It seems that Piwigo does not give easy security control.
Piwigo version: 2.8.0
PHP version: 5.5.31
MySQL version: 5.5.48
Piwigo URL: http://pryphotos.aqclients.com.au/

Hello
if you disable the access to high definition they wont be able to download or see it
If you allow to see a picture on internet, that picture can very easily be recovered so it's quite pointless to disable the donwload...
If you still want to, you would have to use a custom plugin to check the user is a specific group and then remove the donwload icon

That is precisely what I am after. Is there an API somewhere which I could use to create this.
