Now that ploader seems to be dead, I am trying to find something else that will let me upload pictures without having to use the web interface. I have been trying to export pictures from Digikam and all seems to work except the actual uploading of pictures! It can log in to Piwigo and retrieve a list of albums but attempting to upload results in:

Failed to upload media into remote piwigo. Failed to upload photo
Do you want to continue?

Apache logs show a 401 returned to Digikam in response to a post. It doesn't matter which album I choose, the result is the same. I know the credentials are correct because incorrect credentials result in no list of albums to choose from.

The file ws.php suggests it will forbid access if web services are disabled but I am pretty sure that ploader uses [used] ws.php. Checking Apache logs confirms this.

How can I troubleshoot this?
