Custom Fields for Albums

Hi,

I would like to extend the Albums with some custom Fields and realize it with a plugin.
I'm new to piwigo and didn't find any advices or examples to realize this yet.

So, I would be really happy for every tipp.

Thank you
Thommy

Re: Custom Fields for Albums

Here is a plugin (I didn't publish officialy) https://github.com/plegall/Piwigo-external_reference : it adds a field related to albums. Then you can edit it with Piwigo web API.

Re: Custom Fields for Albums

Ahh, thats already interesting! :)

But I need the custom fields in the admin interface (editing or/and add album)...

My plan: integrate my Event-DB to the album. Album is one "Event".

Autocomplete-Field: Event -> delivers event_id + event_title
album_title = event_name +'.'+event_id
album_event_id (custom field) = event_id
album_event_title (custom field) = event_title

I hope you understand what I mean.

Re: Custom Fields for Albums

with [extension by ddtddt] AddInfo [extension by ddtddt] Add Info Users and the one from plg I'm pretty sure you have enough material to work on your own plugin. If you have specific questions, come again here and we will help

Hello again
I think you can go on with a simpler solution. You seems to don't need to add information but in fact to display new ones from existing info (the tittle) So you can change the template code only first by custom templates then by changing the default ones by a searchAndReplace mechanism explained on this forum and used in several themes and plugins

Re: Custom Fields for Albums

Hi all,

I'm also really really really interested in being able to add custom fields to albums.
I have to say this is absolutely necessary for the project i'm in.

So, first : did someone has gone further on this point?

I would be really gratefull to have some infos.

In addition to that in the project i'm in, i would have to enhance the search engine to be able to search and select through this additional properties of albums.

Some help would be great

Thanks

Re: Custom Fields for Albums

Hi all,

So i'm in.
Since a few days i'm working on an adaptation of "Manage properties photos" plugin by ddtddt to make sort of "Manage properties albums" plugin.

I'm by now modifying the "initindex.php" file to display additional properties on the category content (this is ok) and on the categories' thumbnails (and i'm still working on it).
If i'm in the good way i need to know what contains the $categories variable obtained via "loc_begin_index_category_thumbnails" trigger.
But unfortunately there is no documentation about core variables...
How can i know then?

Thanks for the help
