[resolved] Can't manage gallery from web form

Hello everyone, I've installed Piwigo as an add-on by my web host (HostPapa) and it looks like there is a lot of potential. however I can't seem to be allow to do much via the web client. Let me define "do much" with a few examples:

(1) If I want to add a new user I can go to the Administrators Home page and browse to Users >> Manage and finally click on "Add user". After this the username, password and email fields show up... once filled in I click "Submit" and nothing happens = the page doesn't refresh and the user never gets added.

So far the only way I've managed to add users is by registering from within the galerria. But I can't set the users to a different group... because the request doesn't seem to go throug once i press "Submit".

(2) I can't add photos via the web form. I follow the obvious steps and when I click "start upload" the progress bar start moving up but it never reach the end... even with a 100kb image!

Could this be a permission issue within the folders or the system? I have the feeling this is a very simple issue but I haven't found anything similer in the forum.

Here is the info... please note the problem happens with either Chrome and IE11.

Piwigo version: 2.8.6
PHP version: 5.6.28
MySQL version: 5.6.33-log
Piwigo URL: http://fotos.idiaz.ca

Any ideas will be appreciated.

Thank you!
JD

Hi,

I wonder if you could be suffering from the same issue I am getting? You can see the solution I found here:

If you're not sure let me know and I'll explain further.

Re: [resolved] Can't manage gallery from web form

Hello Britonk! I actually found a solution for this problem when searching my web host provider (HostPapa). This post (http://piwigo.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=27776) had the solution.

I contacted tech support and asked them to "restart Apache and to deactivate a positive rule of mod_security" and about 30 minutes later -and a computer restart- fixed the issue.

I was seeing "403 Forbidden" messages within the Chrome console and I suspected of permissions, however I haven't changed anything more and its working now.

Thank you for replying... We can mark this post as solved!
