What are the requirements for succefully convert my Gallery2 albums to Piwigo Albums?

My situation is I want to do the import from one host running Gallery2 to another host running Piwigo.
Is it enough to
* copy the Gallery2 albums directories from the Gallery2 host to the Piwigo galleries directory on the Piwigo host, keeping file and subdirectory names
* synchronize
* dump the Gallery2 SQL database and import it into SQL on the Piwigo host
* Execute Menalto2Piwigo extension

From http://piwigo.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=26034, I get the impression that the M2P extension need full access to the complete Gallery2 site, and thus that the transformation has to be performed on the Gallery2 host.
