Hello/Hi/Greetings,
Hi, I administer a Piwigo site for a class I teach. A student posted a comment, and I got an email alert, and now they just keep coming. I'm getting hundreds and hundreds of emails, all saying she's posted a comment.
I changed her password, and deleted the comment but it doesn't seem to stop.
Any ideas first:
1. What happened. She just posted the comment as normal she says, so was she hacked or did something else go wrong?
2. How do I stop it? :)
thanks!
Will
UPDATE: I've deleted the comment, and the user. And the email notifications continue. I'm getting hundreds each hour. I don't even have the notify admin of comments selected. Any help would be awesome. Thanks.
Piwigo version: 2.8.6
PHP version: 5.6.31
MySQL version: 5.6.34

Hello
do you any access to the server? the mail log? can you ask to the hoster to look into the issue and ask for a server restart?
each program rendering the website can be faulty from Piwigo to the OS

Hi,
I can check with my provider. But the problem is very sporadic. It stopped for a week, and this morning I had more than 2000 notifications of a single comment from a registered user.
Then this afternoon it happened again. I'm currently getting dozens of the same notification every minute.
The setting to notify me of a comment is unchecked in Piwigo.
Any ideas why this is happening?
thanks

I have one more clue.
It looks like it only happens when someone tries to edit their existing comment. Even if I have allow users to edit comments turned on, they are having trouble making changes.
But it then triggers this cascade of email notifications.
