Hello,
After my upgrade from 2.8.6 to 2.9.2 I can't get into my administration page.
I tried the upgrade 2 times: one inside Piwigo-administration en one by Installatron from the provider-server. Both upgrade-methods got me into trouble.
This is the error-message:
Piwigo heeft een onherstelbare fout ondervonden (Piwigo found an irreparable error)
[Hacking attempt] the input parameter "redirect_decoded" is not valid
#1 check_input_parameter /home/xxxxxxxx/domains/inspirell.nl/public_html/galerie/identification.php(50)
For now I have restored my backup. But I would really appreciate some help here.
Piwigo version: 2.8.6
PHP version: 7.0.25
MySQL version: 5.5.5-10.0.29-MariaDB-cll-lve
Piwigo URL: https://www.inspirell.nl/galerie/

Thank you for your reply. I want to check if I understand you correctly. Are these the steps?
1. In my browser (Firefox) I use uBlock [is an ad-blocker] and Ghostery [privacy plugin]. I should de-activate both.
2. I upgrade Piwigo within my administration-area (not outside as with Installatron)
3 I re-activate my ad-blocker and privacy-plugin
You say: "desactivated firewall antispam". Do you mean I have to de-activate my Windows firewall and antivirus software????? I never heard of this in case of upgrading a cms.

Yes try deactivating all of those temporarily while you do the upgrade.
They may get triggered by the browser redirection.

I have uBlock and Ghostery too and never had an issue
this issue is probably related to [Github] Piwigo issue #710
what do you have in your local config?
upload through FTP by overwriting all files from the 2.9.2 zip

I tried the upgrade with all these items de-activated: no success .....
I looked into identification.php with the example of the link (the Piwigo Issue #710) and I see a correct line:
+check_input_parameter('redirect_decoded', $_POST, false, '{^'.preg_quote(cookie_path()).'}');
About my local config, where do I find this?

In trying to restore a backup I run into major problem. Result: no gallery on the server at this moment.

<piwigo directory>/local/config/config.inc.php
Try a manual install with a fresh zip as flop suggests. Perhaps backup current files first.

Hello, I'm back.
With help I managed to restore a backup.
I tried to upgrade again (this time with a reserve installation): same problem.
In my local config is only 1 line: <?php $conf["show_exif"] = $conf["use_exif"] = false;?>
In my identification.php there are 2 lines with a "get_gallery_home_url". It is in line 37 and 94 (securitylevel 2).
Is something wrong here maybe?
Concerning a manual install:
I did not do this yet. I did download the zip-file. But I really want to preserve all my photo's and embedded video's. And I don't know in what folder they are. I did find a lot of *.jpg's in the folder called "upload". But I have not found where my embedded video's are stored.
Can you help me further?

that's safe
that's even in the sticked topic [Forum, topic 23208] READ ME: getting an error after the update?

First I let you know that the problem is solved. I did a manual upgrade according to the instructions on this page: http://piwigo.org/basics/upgrade_manual
Initially I got the same error message, but then I noticed on the homepage the administration-menu and I tried to log in from there. Then I did succeed to get into the administration-area.
So I did a little research on my old piwigo-installation (2.8.3).
To log into the administration area I used this adress:
www.mywebsite.nl/mypiwigo/admin.php
But I discovered that it was automatically redirected to
https://www.mywebsite.nl/mypiwigo/ident … admin.php. And then I got this error.
So this turned out to be the problem.
I don't have the administration-menu on my homepage (esthetic reasons, and I'm the only webmanager). Logging into the administration-page using www.mywebsite.nl/mypiwigo/admin.php works fine. No redirects anymore.
I'm glad that the problem is solved.
Thank you so much for your help and perseverance. That helped not to give up.
I plan to experiment with the upgrade by the "convenient way" and see what happens.

Upgraded successfully to 2.9.2.
This is a correction of my former my post.
The problem with Music_Player had to do with the abscent plugin of Charlie's content. Version 3.0.1 is supposed to be not compatible with 2.9.2, but I activated it (by means of test) and it runs well. Music_Player is now working fine.
The problem with pLoader was connected with my web-adress in my profile here. I corrected this and pLoader connects properly with my website.
Now everything is okay. Instead of 3 smiling smilies:
happy with the succesful upgrade, happy with music player playing, happy with pLoader connecting.
greetings, Ellin-E
