After upgrade from 2.7 to 2.9 can't upload pictures anymore.

Hello/Hi/Greetings,

After upgrade from 2.7 to 2.9 I can't upload pictures anymore. It says:
"Your browser doesn't have HTML5 support."
But it does.
Another thing curious is that although the Dashboard says I have a number of users, when I click on
users->manage it shows no users. I can login as an Administrator, but there are no users!
users list [No data available in table]
If that is so, how do I login with my old administrator user's name and password.
Finally, I updated manually because the automatic updated crashed everytime. After the update everything seemed normal and all the plugins are updated. But, I tried to upload pictures Today and nope, it doesn't go.
I can't add users neither, it just hang like waiting for something.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Regards,
VV

Re: After upgrade from 2.7 to 2.9 can't upload pictures anymore.

Hi,
thank you for the links. I checked and:
1. I have json enabled, version 1.2.1
2. date/time support enabled, "Olson" Timezone Database Version 2015.7, Timezone Database internal, Default Timezone Europe/Berlin.

I put this line:

date_default_timezone_set('Europe/Berlin');

in the database.inc.php file found in the local-config folder as somebody else suggested, but it didn't work  neither. I still cannot add users or see the ones from before.

Any other suggestion? What's the main advantage of upgrading? Can I migrate the data and make a fresh install of piwigo 2.9 without the upgrade thing?
Thank you for your answers,
VV

Re: After upgrade from 2.7 to 2.9 can't upload pictures anymore.

for your data/website safety it's very important to always stay updated

1- upload by overwritingg all files from a manually downloaded latest Piwigo archive
2- if that doesn't solve your issues do as specified in [Forum, post 167946 by plg in topic 28073] Users not displayed (F12 displays the dev console of your browser, then you should see a Network, refresh the page and look for the request calling admin/user_list_backend.php, then check and report the Respond)

when I try to go to the "Add pictures" I get this:

ncfoxy.js:72

I don't know if this is relevant or not, but it may give some clues for someone who knows.

Re: After upgrade from 2.7 to 2.9 can't upload pictures anymore.

the zip is safe enough to overwrite everything without any issue
but here that doesn't matter

thx for reporting the Respond
What's the server code/state code of this request? (200, 302, 404, 500 ...)

I'm notifying Pierrick who implemented that new user panel

About the picture upload, do you have the same issue? In the batch manager do you have issues too?

Re: After upgrade from 2.7 to 2.9 can't upload pictures anymore.

Now I copy *ALL* the files and folders except for "local" which I deleted from the unzipped directory. Now I don't have the problem, I can see all the users and I don't get any "HTML5" message no longer. I'll check all the plugins now for compatibility and report back.
Thank you

Re: After upgrade from 2.7 to 2.9 can't upload pictures anymore.

Everything seems to be working now. Probably this page:
http://piwigo.org/basics/upgrade_manual
should be upgraded to mention that all contents must be copied and replacing the old ones, but I don't know.
In any case my gallery seems to be working now. The users are visible, the HTML5 thing dissappeared and the search is working. Thank you for your help.

Re: After upgrade from 2.7 to 2.9 can't upload pictures anymore.

hmm
sound like a permission issue on folder when doing the automatic update: if so, when updating do a manual one
Do you have other CMS such as wordpress?

Re: After upgrade from 2.7 to 2.9 can't upload pictures anymore.

Hi, No, piwigo is the only application in the server. And it worked when I copied all the folders from the zip installation file except "local". That one I kept the old one. I have been testing Today and everything works fine except "Charlie's Content" plugin which I won't activate because it says it is not compatible. I still can access the PDF I have there though, some PDF show the PDF icon some others don't.
Thanks,
VV
