Forum design refreshed

Hi everybody,

Big changes are coming for Piwigo.org. I just published a small one: forum design refreshed.

* more empty spaces
* more focus on actual info
* replace some labels by icons
* make "Post topic" and "Post reply" more obvious

Design by Lisa, implemented by plg :-)

I have made some screenshots of the previous design Vs new design (for archives...)

Re: Forum design refreshed

Looks great! Way more modern and structured. I like it.

Though, for regular visitors it does require a purge of the browser cache to really see what you're talking about :-)

Re: Forum design refreshed

-i like the orange post new button and that "show menu" icon for replays.
-i don't like to much pure white for backgrounds. i have preferred the old version with more lightgrey background and different lightgrey nuances for odd/even posts and topics.

I liked the Show new posts since last visit somewhere near the top of the page at a prominent place, now I have to scroll down to the bottom.

Re: Forum design refreshed

I am missing one option on the redesigned Forum.  When I am in a sub-forum (requests, extensions, etc.) I review the topics, and if none interest me, I like to hit the button 'Mark Forum as Read'.  I now have to call up each post so that is marked as read.  Other than that, I like the redesign.

I miss the "mark forum as read" feature as well. I found it at the end of the Forum Index page, but would like to see it back on each individual sub-forum page too.

I also miss the Show new posts since last visit somewhere near the top of the page at a prominent place.

Re: Forum design refreshed

OK, I will add it back next to <login> <logout> in the top right corner, with a short name like 'recent' and the "Show new posts since last visit" as tooltip.
