After updating the theme yesterday, I noticed the carousel in homepage (with the script of Tom Kuther using Piwigo API to load the newest 10 images) stopped working.

It looks that the line:
var pwg_api = "/ws.php?format=json&method=pwg.categories.getImages&recursive=true&per_page=10&recursive=true&order=date_available%20desc";
is getting a 404 error.
I tested some things, as putting the absolute path of ws.php, purge compiled templates, change permissions of ws.php... but without any results.
Maybe it is related to some PHP configuration in my server? I'm completely lost.

On your site it should work with /galeria/ws.php. Check the javascript console for errors if it doesn't.

I think E is a good idea, and maybe make it configurable via theme settings

I agree completely. :) Except I have NO idea how to even start.

I can't even figure out if this is code that is buried in the core, or if it is set by the theme. I'd be fine to even just add / edit some code manually to YOUR theme, but I can't find any code that even remotely looks like it is posting the description or title. The funny part is a couple of other themes DO merge them, but in the album page. Yet even there I can't figure out how they do it.

Sigh. Looks like I'm stuck with A for now.

So I found picture. tpl, and the refs to description include:

data-description="{$thumbnail.DESCRIPTION}"

in two places. I could change that to $thumbnail.NAME. That would be telling it that the description never gets displayed, I think, just that the field will be the name/title field. It also exists in index.TPL

Although perhaps I'd be better off trying it as "data-description="{$thumbnail.NAME}" & "{$thumbnail.DESCRIPTION}" ??

The text below the main image is set in [Github] piwigo-bootstrap-darkroom file template/picture.tpl@L38

No idea why the variable is called $COMMENT_IMG, but it's the description. If you replace the two $COMMENT_IMGs with $current.TITLE it should do what you want for now.

The data-description stuff is for the PhotoSwipe slideshow.

I *never* would have figured that out. (Comment???? is description but description is not...umm, okay!)

While this was fixed in the Bootswatch Minty color theme in 2.2.0, it's still an issue with Bootswatch Slate. When typing in the search field, the box is white and the text is white so you can't see it.

Hi Teekay, thank you! It was the path. I don't know if I changed it while updating, but the path was "../ws.php". I added the /galeria and worked.

I even tested previously with absolute path (http://...etc) so previously discarded that possibility. But it worked perfectly.

Hi; I can't get the Carousel to work on my site. I only have 1 plugin installed; Additional Pages. It seems to generate the Json properly as seen attached. The site and theme were working fine before I tried to add the carousel. But, it never loads any images. Any ideas what I have done wrong.

Do you noticed, each image URL path has "\/" for each "/" making it inaccesible:

http:\/\/www.marcrjacobs.com\/photos\/i.php?\/upload\/2018\/03\/02\/20180302210315-66c3f2b9-xl.jpg

I don't know how this path is generated, however.

My guess is those forward slashes are just being escaped with the backslash so that's why it looks like that.

I got that output by pasting the Json call up on the URL. And yes, the back slashes are just escaped characters. This is the Json output that the CSS block I pasted in returns. I wanted to verify it was actually getting the 10 most recent docs. I'm trying to put the carousel on the home page. https://www.marcrjacobs.com/photos/

Hello,
As a future enhancement, would it be possible to customise the hero image for each album? For example by selecting the representative image as the hero image.

Btw, I don't know how to remove the hero image from the first page only when a carousel is defined.
( I don't know if it is the rich way but I made the request on github : [Github] piwigo-bootstrap-darkroom issue #157)

Try

var pwg_api = "/photos/ws.php .."

You need the full path, like elece some posts above.
