Hello/Hi/Greetings,
I cannot get the new version of bootstrap darkroom to install. An older version was installed and working. I thought maybe if I deleted the old version it would help. Still no avail. I have only tried through the admin portal. When I try to upload it stalls on this page:

Any help would be appreciated. I love this theme!
thanks,
Don

Looks like Piwigo is no longer installed on your website. Regardless, we can't access your admin interface (and shouldn't). It would be helpful to know exactly the error message you received.

Should be solved already

Fixed. The install was too big for the admin interface. I did an FTP install instead, worked fine.

Tried installing via admin and it produced the following error message when I clicked on 'configuration'...
Warning: Unexpected character in input: '\' (ASCII=92) state=1 in /home2/adenacon/public_html/geografpix/themes/bootstrap_darkroom/admin/admin.inc.php on line 23
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home2/adenacon/public_html/geografpix/themes/bootstrap_darkroom/admin/admin.inc.php on line 23
... and a similar message when I tried to visit the gallery...
Warning: Unexpected character in input: '\' (ASCII=92) state=1 in /home2/adenacon/public_html/geografpix/themes/bootstrap_darkroom/themeconf.inc.php on line 240
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home2/adenacon/public_html/geografpix/themes/bootstrap_darkroom/themeconf.inc.php on line 240
I found the info on this forum about its size being too big for admin so I deactiveated the theme and removed it making sure using FTP that the directory was removed, the I downloaded the theme from the download link provided and uploaded it to my site using FTP. After all that I got exactly the same error messages.
Any help would be most appreciated, thanks.

The web hosting provider shows these versions...
Apache: 2.2.34
PHP: 5.4.24
MySQL: 5.6.32-78.1

Check Administration -> Tools in Piwigo directly. I suspect it's PHP 5.2 or older.

Solved, many thanks.
Following your advice, I checked the PHP version in Piwigo and it was showing 5.2, so I contacted our web host and it turns out they had something set incorrectly in their system which they fixed while I was talking to them. Piwigo now shows PHP 7.0 and the theme works perfectly.
