Hi,

by default Piwigo logs the full IP Adress (as far as I can see) for:
-Visits
-Comments

According to EU and especially German Law the logging of full IP Adresses for visitors is in conflict with data privacy.

Is there a kind of global setting (i did not find one) for disabling or better anonymizing IP Adresses?

My workaround at the moment is to add a small function to:
functions_inc.php
functions_comment.inc.php

which is not the most elegant way because I need to edit core files at this point.

I am pretty sure that a solution would be interesting especially for german users of Piwigo.

Unfortunately I have no experience and no clue how to achive this with a self written plugin.

Any hints/ideas are welcome.
